The Never-Ending

Lights

“The spheres were like never-ending lights

in the sky in front of me and all around me.”

Embú das Artes, São Paulo, Past Midnight

Introduction

On November 25, 2012 in my travels to South America, I visited, São Paulo, Brazil—a lovely country rich in everything you can think of. Embú das Artes literally translates as “Land of the Arts,” a picturesque, small arts- and-crafts town. Its streets are covered with cobblestones, some twenty-four miles from São Paulo. I was there for the Christmas holidays.

I had rented a place all to myself in a rural area outside of the town. Upon arrival in my rented car, everything seemed great until I got stuck with severe weather that kept me indoors for a few days.

On my third night in town, I slept in a chaise lounge where I watched television in the wee hours and was awakened by a rumbling thunderstorm that broke out without warning. Darkness immediately surrounded the whole property. Then, a loud lightning strike followed and struck a power line somewhere nearby. The strong winds carried an eerie howling and whistling that whipped against the palm trees causing them to bend almost to the ground. I turned the lights on without any luck, despite the blackout, because my reasoning had abandoned me for a few seconds.

The blinking flashes from the storm let in some light in the living room area, and on the other end of the house, there was a bright spot, so bright that it looked like fire and got me even more confused. I had to rush upstairs to see up close where that absurd brightness was coming from.

My mind had a hard time trying to figure out why that light was brighter than three suns all put together in the same spot. I was curious, and the closer I got, the weirder it became. That light illuminated the whole house for quite some time and caught my attention. Just the thought of another abduction creeped me out, and everything started spinning in my head. A feeling of anxiety and overwhelming fear attacked me. When I had these experiences in the past, these beings had always used a clever parade of illusions by using hallucinations to trick my mind about some subject, probably for some dark plan. I couldn’t figure it out, but I was close to finding out. I walked cautiously, holding the staircase railing while expecting the worst in every step I made. I was blinded for a while, and quickly everything turned completely dark, and I was gone.
